Wiley Explosion Show ChoirTo explain the formation of the Wiley Explosion Show Choir one must go all the way back to the year 1992 when both Stephen Hulbert and Heather Andrus met each other performing in the collegiate show choir "The Macombers." The experience of singing, dancing, and performing with that talented group left a lasting impression on them both. Stephen left Macomb community College in the fall of 1994 to complete his bachelor of music education degree at Eastern Michigan University and Heather went to Oakland University to finish hers in elementary education. A few years later the Utica Community School district hired them and in 2004 were both transferred to Wiley Elementary. Mr. Hulbert and Mrs. Andrus have a burning passion for the performing arts and show entertainment. They very much enjoy instilling that passion in the students that they teach. Auditions are held in the spring with dance and vocal competitions. The group is entirely funded by donations. Corporate sponsorships are welcome! The group has had the wonderful opportunity of performing on Detroit's 100.3 WNIC Radio, at The State Capitol building, the Chrysler Tech Center, a Care House fundraising event, at Oakland University Men's Basketball games, at The Utica Community Schools "Arts and Idols" competition fundraiser, at numerous assisted living centers, and for many civic organizations and weddings.
